Do Norepinephrine and Estradiol Affect the Growth of Escherichia coli and Expressions of Mar Genes?

Objective: Human hormones have been shown to regulate antibiotic resistance levels, pathogenicity, and growth of bacteria. In our study, we aimed detect the possible effects norepinephrine (NE) estradiol (Est) on expression chromosomal multiple (mar) locus related genes (ompF, marA, tolC, acrA, marR acrB) in Escherichia (E) coli SPC105. Material Method: Serum supplemented SAPI (control) serum containing (0.0017 µg/mL, 0.04 µg/ mL, 100 µg/mL) (0.4 ng/mL, 3 300 ng/mL) was used grow E. Growth alterations were determined using turbidimetric method while gene levels examined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). Results: It that, NE Est all concentrations affect (reduce/enhance due incubation periods or hormone concentrations) SPC105 apart from high-level concentration. Expression six target be significantly enhanced presence both Est. Conclusion: Our results constitute new data influences these expressions mar operon transcriptional strain.
